An exhilarating adventure is best experienced with someone special.

And Pinoy Adventures – now on its new timeslot every Saturday night after 24 Oras Weekend – prepares to do just this as program host Richard Gutierrez explores the scenic province of Bukidnon together with Makapiling Kang Muli leading lady Sarah Lahbati.

The adventurous Kapuso couple falls in love with their first extreme sport together – the luge! They get to ride a small coasting sled along a steep and winding luge track. Who gets to the finish line first?

They also find themselves in a whirlwind romance with the dune buggy. The ride brings them to a high point with a panoramic view of the verdant mountains of Bukidnon. But as the adventure continues, find out how they will survive when the buggy gets stuck!

To cap their extreme Bukidnon adventure, Richard and Sarah get tight as they ride the Anicycle, a bicycle ride 100-feet above the ground over a single tightrope. Will this two-wheeled trip on air have the sporty pair rolling in the deep or will it have a sweet ending?

Catch all these in Pinoy Adventures, now airing every Saturday evening at 6 pm.

Following Pinoy Adventures is local television’s pioneering wish-granting show Wish Ko Lang at 6.45pm. Multi-awarded news magazine program Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho, in turn, airs after Wish Ko Lang at 7.45pm on GMA 7’s Sabado Star Power sa Gabi.

Richard goes on a camping trip with some kids

Makapiling kang Muli star Richard Gutierrez had a fun time at the shoot of GMA’s new Station ID, which will feature him in a camping scene with fellow Kapuso actors Mark Anthony Fernandez, TJ Trinidad and Mike Tan along with some kids.

“I really enjoyed doing the scene with Mark Anthony, TJ and Mike, and of course spending time with the kids,” he shared. “We gathered around a bonfire and just talked about anything that came to our minds until we eventually ran out of stories to tell.”

Their part in the much-awaited Station ID portrays a really touching moment between the GMA actors and the children listening intently to the stories of their kuyas.

“We were asked to just keep talking while the cameras were rolling. So we took turns telling jokes and even shared personal ghost stories. It was really fun and I’m very excited to see how it will turn out,” said Richard.

He seems to have his hands full these days. When he’s not busy exploring the undiscovered side of the country or searching for hidden treasures in his weekly GMA News and Public Affairs show Pinoy Adventures, the actor-environmentalist plays the dashing Martin Caballero in the GMA Telebabad show, Makapiling Kang Muli with Carla Abellana and rumoured sweetheart Sarah Lahbati. However, the two remain quiet about the real status of their relationship to this day.

What does a busy actor like him do during his free time? “Of course, I spend it with my family and friends. I also engage in mixed martial arts and play basketball, among other physical activities to keep me fit.”

“I love how I am able to do two completely different things in my current shows in GMA. With Pinoy Adventures, I get to travel around our country and discover great things about it in a way like I never experienced before. And then with my other show, Makapiling Kang Muli, I get to portray a really challenging character and continue to grow as an actor. So it’s like sharing two different sides of me to our Kapuso viewers.”

The new GMA Station ID with Richard and 200 other Kapuso stars will premiere this August.

PINOY ADVENTURES in Kalinga

This Sunday, watch the new adventure of Richard Gutierrez with his latest ecotourism destination discovery of the north, the province of Kalinga.

On his accession to the mountainous Cordillera, Richard Gutierrez will experience a heartfelt welcome from the inhabitants. He will have a chance to visit a panciteria to eat the noodles named batil patung — the Tuguegarao stir fried noodles version that uses the meat of the buffalo! But before he ate, he was invited by the owner to cook.

After the food trip and while they were traveling, the ground suddenly crumbled and covered the road. Fortunately Richard met Lakay Appad who offered them fresh pork as offering for Kabunian, the God recognized by the indigenous people. Later on, Pinoy adventures team continued the journey. Despite the test of time, Richard and the team have witnessed natural beauty — green mountains in which the clouds almost kissed the land, many rice terraces that has proven the old civilization of our ancestors and the different tribes with colorful history. Basically, the Kalinga mountains area is home of brave inhabitants. Richard met the “headhunters”, and another tribal group whose people have tattoo covered all over their bodies in which branches of lime with thorns are used in marking the body. Richard also met the oldest tattoo artist, Wang-od, and its customers who are old ladies in the tribe. Here in the mountains of Kalinga also lived and died one of the recognized heroes of nature — add Macli-ing Dalug. He died because he opposed the erection of the Chico Dam Project of the Marcos regime.

In what way that the migrants live in the mountains of Kalinga? Richard Gutierrez enjoyed the trip even without a hotel and the availability of electricity is based on time. How? Watch PINOY ADVENTURES on Sunday, right after I-Bilib on GMA-7!
